Final: Photo Gallery
For my photo gallery final I decided to do a photo story! My story is called, "The World of Pure Imagination." It's a story about two bored little girls who have an adventure, but really they're just imagining it. I used a lot of different photo techniques to do this, such as the rule of thirds. One of the main challenges was the lighting since it was outside. All of these photos were taken in my backyard.
"Why are we bored?" It shows leading lines since the bricks on the wall are lines leading to the two girls.
"This is fun!" It shows contrast in colors because of the dresses against the grass. It also shows candid photography because they're laughing for real. It's not fake. It was hard to make them laugh.
" We gonna get you!" It shows color contrast because of the bright dresses of the girls and the skin of the dragon.

Project: Photo Manipulation
Before
After
I call this picture, "The Skies Couldn't be Bluer." (because it's fake. :) For this photo I just added a little more green to the trees and a little more blue to the sky. It really makes it look cooler, but not enough to look fake.
Before
After
I call this, "#beingshowupbyatoddler." I copied her into that position, and covered up the spot with copies from other parts of the photo that you can kind of see. It's not the best photo, but I had fun making it.
This one was probably my favorite. I call it, "Nobody saw me in 'Thor, The Dark World'"? I copied my upper body from the top picture and pasted it smaller in Thor's picture, so it looks like I photo bombed his movie. This was my favorite project, and I'm going to just edit photos like that for fun!

Project: Candid Photography
This is called, "A Hard-Working Mom." I took this in my kitchen while my mom was mopping the floor. This was taken seconds before my discovery. It's candid photography because I took it without her knowing.
This is called, "Blowing of Steam." I took this of my sister while she was playing the piano. It's candid photography because I took it when she didn't see me. I was like a ninja.
This is called, "I Got to Sit Down Now." I took it of my brother when he was sitting in my little sister's seat and relaxing. It's candid photography because I took this while he was distracted, and didn't see me.
None of them knew what hit them.

Project: Still Life and Movement
This is called, "Isn't it Spring Yet?" I took it in my backyard when it snowed after the flowers bloomed. It's a still life photo because it's... still life.
This is called, "Be Free." I took it, once again, in my backyard. It shows movement, but it's not blurry.
This is called, "Super Speed." I took it in my backyard while my sister was running down a hill. It shows movement because you can see the blurriness that shows she's moving.

Project: Portraits and Landscapes
I call this one "I can read!" It's my little sister. I took it on my couch. It's a portrait because it's just a picture of her showing something about her.
This is called "The Misty Mountains." I took it from my front yard. It's a landscape picture because it's a picture of landscape. Like how you can see the snow on the mountain, but also the closer mountain and the tree.
This one is called "I Believe I Can Fly!" I took it in my backyard. It's my other little sister. It's a portrait and a landscape because it's a picture of her with a beautiful landscape background.

Experiments in Lighting
This one is called "Puppet Theater." I took it in my school room. It's a puppet theater I made with my siblings out of PVC pipe and homemade curtains. It has good lighting because it lights the subjects well, and there are no distracting shadows.
This one is called "Living Room." I took it in my living room, hence the name. It shows bad lighting because the light coming in through the window blinds the camera, and distracts from everything else.
These ones are called "Light Changes." I took them from my back yard. I took this one in the morning,
and this one at afternoon.
This one was taken around sunrise. They all look different because the sun was in a different position.

Project: Best Photo Ever!
This is called "At the end of the rainbow." I took it in my front room. It's part of our St. Patrick's Day decor. It follows the rule of thirds and leading lines because if you put a grid on it, the pot of gold is on the right side, and the streamer lines lead to the pot.
This one is called "Midget. I took it in my living room. It shows perspective because I took it from a high angle, so it looks like he's really short.

Framing and Viewpoint
This is called "Fragile Frame." I made it on my kitchen floor. It's a frame because of the domino frame around the smiley face shows that it's the focal point.
This one is called "Wrecking Ball." I took it in my backyard. Because of the angle and how close I was, it looks like the soccer ball is smashing the fence and grass.

Project: Leading Lines, Balance, and Symmetry
I call this picture "Do you want to build a snowman?" I took this photo on the deck outside my house. It demonstrates leading lines because of both the side and the floor of the deck are leading to the subject: my little sister.
This one is called "Owl Eyes." I took this picture on my parents bed. Those are barn doors that look like an owl. It shows symmetry because the two sides are almost completely identical.
I named this one "Lonely Cube." I took it in my school room. It shows asymmetry because it's the only thing in the picture, and it looks lonely. Like it just wants someone to come solve it.

Love
This one is called Love. I took this picture in my living room. It uses the rule of thirds because the sign is on the line if there was a grid on it.
Socks
I call this one Socks. I took this photo in my kitchen. The crazy fun colors of the socks show that this person is happy and they they want others to be too.
Baby Girl
I call this photo Baby Girl. This is my little sister. I took this photo on my parents bed. It demonstrates the rule of thirds because her eyes are on the line if you put on the grid, and it shows color because the pink blanket she's laying on shows it's a girl.
